It seems Zonal tag has gone in favour of Jaffer. In my opinion the first choice should have been Gambhir, second Laxman and third Uttappa. It is altogether unfair to Gambhir.
Vengersarkar has cast a slur on his image as a "Colonel". He has been a very respected personality till now.

I think that its certainly not fair to Gambhir. Gambhir has alot of talent and he has often delivered for India when given a chance. Also Gambhir is a better deal than Jaffer because of his age.
I hope the Indian think tank gives serious thought to including Gambhir as a permanent fixture for the India team.

no because i think that Gambhir is a much better player than Wassim Jaffer. He is agressive and plays more freely than Wassim Jaffer. Moreover Wassim Jaffer is a test player not ODI.

wasim jaffer has actually performed much better than gambhir in the recent matches played.we must not take gambhir in the team when we have wasim jaffer available to us and if we know that wasim is better and still selecting gambhir it will be to know the result but still remain unchanged or without any effort!!
