There are no clear studies that prove that masturbation is healthy and keeps the prostate healthy. For every study that says it is, there is one that says it does not. The prostate is not a muscle but a gland, so it cannot get stronger by using it more. Over-use (3 ejaculations or more a week) would cause abbrasions, which can cause it to become congested and inflamed, which can lead to prostate issues.

Frequent masturbation and ejaculation (usually more than 3 times a week) stimulate acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions excessively, resulting in the over production of sex hormones and neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin. Abundant and unusually amount of these hormones and neurotransmitters can cause the brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinep... conversion and turn the brain and body functions to be extremely sympathetic. In other words, there is a big change of body chemistry when one excessively pratices masturbation.

As per today's modern medicine there is no harm if you do it a certain number of times a day. I am not a doctor/expert but I know this by reading. But, still I will try to answer by an anology. As per modern science, energy can neither be created nor destroyed. And as per Indian medicine Ayurveda, food is digested to Rasa (Plasma) first then it is tranformed to 6 other elements called dhatus (final one is semen) and then finally to an essence calle Ojas. The more Ojas you have the more strength of body and mind you have. Also, you can relate it directly to the immune power you have. This Ojas is depleted if you waste your semen. Coming back to modern science, if food is assimilated and converted to creae an enegry called Ojas, then it will be spent also and will be spent via loss of semen. So, you know why you should do less sex and avoid masturbation. So, you have to maintain a balance. If fortunately, you have lot of Ojas then you will have great vigour and can do and enjoy sex easily. If you do it lot of time and the Ojas is not created for you appropriately then you know there will be a deficiency and it will lead to physical and mental problems. Also, read book which will be avaialabe from Swami Sivananada on topic called Bramhacharya. He was a doctor by himself and also a scholar and master of this medicine. Let me know if you still need any help.

Masturbation is not bad for your health. It won’t make you go blind, insane, or bald, give you spots, stunt your growth, or turn you into a pervert.

Actually, Masturbation can be good for you as it helps relieve stress. It also causes your body to release endorphins (pleasure hormones) which make you more chilled-out.

Masturbation is normal. But not too much. Masturbation can cause weakness if it is too much. Your testicles will hang down because of insufficient sperm. But if it is only 1 x a day. It is all right.
