For using steroids Aktar has been punished not to play for the team for two years and Asif for one year.Is this punishment enough to prevent future incidents like this?

If it was enough for S.K.Warne, it should be more than enough for Mr. Akhtar. Things however aren't going to change - people across all sports will continue to take risks. When caught, there is a temporary break in the career. But you could always write a book and get compensated for the banned period. (Mr.Hair must know all about that).

I think thispunishment has been awarded taking into consideration the punishment awarded to other players for the same incident. However, I feel the punishment should have been uniform forboth the players, i.e. ban of 2 year for both the players, since this being the first incident in their carreer..

shoaib aktar out for 2 years...the pakistan cricket board just shot themselves in the foot there...he's one of the only bowlers pakistan has brought into the team in the last 10 years who has managed to play more than about 12 - 24 months...hope they find someone good to replace him or i'd expect a bit of a lean patch as far as their cricket goes. while they're at it though they could ban inzimam for being a cry baby

No, it is not enough for Shoaib as he has a history of offences. What the PCB has revealed is that Akthar never co-operated
with them in the tests and was even reluctant to give his test.
Also he is known for his indiscipline.

On the other hand, the punishment is more than enough for Asif
as he is young & is not indisciplined. Also this is his first offence.

Yes, this punishment is more then enough for both of them....

you can check the history when Shane Warne was banned for 1 year by ACB. Even after knowing that he was involved in similer sort of activites in past as well.

The career of Shoaib is as good as over. I think it is enough.

i guess it is more than enough for Asif but nothing is enough for Shohaib.its my advice to him to stop thinking abt cricket and start working in "lollywood".

players next time will think before using any such things.
