I don't think it's a very good sign for anyone to have diarrhoea for over a week, let alone someone who is pregnant. You could easily get dehydrated. So I think it's worth a trip to see your GP or midwife - always better to be safe than sorry.
Regarding your hands - that does ring a bell from when I was pregnant. I think it's called carpal tunnel syndrome and is very common in late stage pregnancy.
Are your palms bright red? Mine were, and so were half the mums' in hospital when I had my baby. Don't take my word for it though - it's been a while and I may have remembered things wrong. Try googling the phrase and see what it says.
Good luck for the birth of your baby xxx
Ps: just found this info for you on a pregnancy website, hopefully it'll put your mind at rest!
Pain and numbness in your hands and fingers, as opposed to the pins-and-needles sensation you may get when your hands or feet fall asleep, is most likely caused by carpal tunnel syndrome - a condition associated with swelling and weight gain during pregnancy, where the nerves in the wrist become compressed. The pain is usually centered in the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and half of your ring finger. Thankfully not all pregnant women suffer from this and for most of those who do, it's mild and temporary. For some women though, it can be severe and last several months.

I'm 35 weeks and I wake up with tingly, numb hands sometimes! Its really annoying!
As for the diarrhoea it is quite common in the run up to labour I've heard. I've actually had a bit of an upset tummy myself but I'm not due for a while yet!

I think if you weren't pregnant and had diarrhoea for a week you would probably have been at your GP by now. It most likely is your body adjusting and readying for birth, but I would def not leave it to chance esp if you have a fever etc.
Your hands is probably carpal tunnel syndrome. I would get everything checked though prior to the birth.
Good luck.

1). Yes it is possibly a sign of your body having a clear out ready for labour. Keep your fluid intake up, and speak to your midwife - a week is a long time.
2). Yes, it gets slowly better after birth. Its just the extra water you are carrying crushing a nerve. As my midwife said, "annoying, but normal"!

I'm now 40 weeks pregnant and last week i also had diarrhea everyday. It is a sign of prelabor and yes, your body is clearing itself out. This week I'm having regular bowel movements. This shouldn't be a big deal as long as you keep drinking your fluids and at your next appt let your doc know about it. Diarrhea is a natural part of pregnancy for many women, just stay hydrated! :)

Your body is getting set for delivery is all. It's cleaning itself out before the main event.
Numbing is normal too, its the way you are sleeping and the added weight of the baby.

It could be your body clearing itself out ready for labour - but, as with all the other answers, you should always consult someone medically qualified if you're concerned about anything in pregnancy - your baby's life depends on it!

Long term toileting is not good! You will incur a large and quick loss of body fluids. you must drink lots of water and seek advice, if in the UK call NHS direct 08454647 or see your Doctor. The numbness is probably because of the extra weight you are carrying causing spinal nerves to "pinch" seek advice please.
