We hit rock bottom six months ago, and financially we are really down and out pending a court case. We refuse to borrow from friends, and I need to see a doctor for painful joints but we cant afford it. Does anybody have suggestions. I live in RSA. I would rather be dead than a burden to anybody.

Killing yourself is the most selfish thing you can do. You mentioned you have friends, and I'm sure you have family, most of all you have each other. You would cause so much pain to others if you took your own life. Be brave, you will get through this. The good thing about hitting rock bottom is that there is no way to go but up. Hang in there, work hard and stick it out. This will pass soon. You can look for free professional help, try a suicide hotline or call a church. Talk to someone about what you are going through.

Life is never a burden to anybody. They'd do the same for you wouldn't they. You gotta do what you gotta do, ask for the money and get help. Think about the the burden on others it would cause if you were not around. That would be selfish dont you think? Dont worry about the court case, if you dont have the money, then you can't pay and they will have to accept that or a form of payments to suit your needs.

Your friends want to help?? Then let them, pay them back. A coward is one who runs from an opportunity to help their family. You would be borrowing the money, but still that means you are doing what you have to do to take care of business. If you think being dead is gonna help matters, you are wrong. Your family will be without you to struggle and not to mention the financial burden you would add for a funeral. Hang in there, it will get better, if you let it.

Don't be suckered in by temporary feelings. I also have struggled with depression during the dot-com stock crash here in the US during 2001. I went from being a millionare to declaring bankruptcy. My marriage was hanging by a thread, etc.

I toughed it out and things are much better, but I spent years of regret and wishing I could go back and do things differently.

Being a Christian really helped. Having faith in God and that there is something beyond this life helped. We are here to learn and grow. And as you know, growth and learning aint easy. You short yourself of this invaluable time on earth.

You are in my prayers.

Please burden people with your problems and borrow money before anything else especially death. Don't neglect your health as your financial problems will go away but if you are unwell after wards what was the point in fighting? Things can only get better from here.

Talk to a close friend, and see if they can help you. If not, God will find a way to get you through it.

Your death could cause many "burdens". Hold your head up and fight.
