Man U WILL be top of the group. But heres the deal.
For Crewe, the only players we put on that are regulars are Solksjaer, Oshea, Silvestre, Fletcher, Carrick (I think?), and a few more maybe. This cup isn't taken seriously. The league cup is just stupid, no one really fights for it.
We lost to Copenhagen, don't know why. Just we didn't play out best. We did not have Giggs or Saha. But look.... we have 9 points. Celtic,#2, has 6. We will be fine. We are definetely moving up.

The answer is in the question really, they play worse when they field a weakened side because it is a weakened side. I was dissapointed because i felt even the United reserves should be capable of beating them but in Uniteds defence the pitch was poor because there was a concert in the stadium at the weekend aparently, and also Saha, Giggs and Neville were injured so atleast they can blame it on injuries.

you can blame the pitch, the weather, and other factors which both teams are subject too! but you nailed it on the head fielding a weaker team, taking out the likes of giggs, their captain Gary Neville, what did you expect? giggs is a play maker and it takes 2 defenders to mark him, Neville has the job of controlling everything from the back. The LISBON LIONS featured in the news yesterday, and a little known fact that Celtic team won the European cup with a squad of 14 players who all came from a 15 mile radius of Glasgow.Manchester United are living proof "change is not good" and maybe for them rotation is not the answer stability would be more in order.

Man U and Alex Ferguson has always this tendency to disregard weaker opposition. On the other hand, any team that plays Man U are always fired up for the occasion. The result speaks for itself.

Man-U tend to lose on weakened side is because they put their B team on.
Besides they are already through to the next stage.

It wont be easy as they have celtic and benfica next... If they lost to a weak team with a weakened side... it only meant one thing... they lack strength in depth...
