By far, Gareth is my favourite. The discussion he had with Tim's office fling (Cannot remember her name - came from the Swindon branch!) saying he would have her after Tim, as if she was meant to be flattered was classic! Although, not impressed with the American version, they have totally sucked the humour out of it for me! x

I am an American and I watch comedies regardless of their country of origin. I have seen most of the BBC episodes and really enjoyed it. Ricky Gervais is so good, so funny, and Gareth and Tim and the ladies are fun to watch. I think David's friend Finchy is a real hoot too, so bawdy, so many memories they share. I think some of the British people's disdain for the American version is caused by comparing the two and possibly hard feelings that we copied you. Well we did, but Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais' names are in the credits of each episode, and the US show was made for US audiences. The US version is in its third season so we must be doing something right. The UK show had only 14 episodes.

The American version of The Office is my favorite show on television. Michael Scott is by far my favorite character.
I haven't seen the UK version, yet, but I am planning on getting the seasons through NetFlix.
I'm sorry that you don't find it funny, I find it hilarious. Something that I found very interesting is that the American version closely modeled the first season after the UK version, but it didn't do nearly as well here. Starting in the 2nd season, they started separating the 2 shows more, and it did much better. I was reading where the writers of the show said that our senses of humor (America vs UK) is just too different, and it wasn't working.

I love The Office but cant possibly choose between the characters, the interaction between the three main characters would be lost without each other. Magical and cringe making.....I wish they would bring back a new series.

The one with the West Country accent and the funny face. The whole thing is genius! Especially when Gervais does that dance with his arms!
