So,
I've written some (crude) HTML code to make a page
I've bought my domain name (from BT)
I've paid for a server/host thing (BT again)

But how do I get my HTML code up on my domain name?

Hello

You might have got a FTP address, username and password when you bought the domain name. Get an FTP client (Eg: SmartFTP) and upload tour files after login with the above info.

Hope this helps

If you have bought a domain then your website should be www.yourdomain.com

you would then use an FTP program (i recommend FTPcommander) as its excellent AND FREE!!

you would then enter your FTP SERVER information and this would usually (but not always) be ftp.yourdomain.com

you need your ftp password too which should have been emailed to you by your host.

Just enter this into FTPcommander (or whatever ftp prog you have) and press connect.

It should then connect to your web site and you can simply UPLOAD files from your PC to the server... once uploaded htey are then viewable by everyone on the web.

Just a note for the future....... dont go with BT for web hosting.... They are crap.

Your hosting provider (BT) should have given you instructions on how to access the server to upload your content. You will probably need to FTP it using a program like CuteFTP, but you will need the address and password which BT probably e-mailed you.

You use File Transfer Protocol to load the folder and pages to your folder on the server; you can buy an FTP program or you can use Internet Explorer.
I've never used I.E. but there's a tutorial on the Microsoft website.
