Purely out of curiosity Whats caused this? What are the parents/carers of these young people doing wrong? What is the government doing wrong? What has happened to British society to get to this stage?

Agree with JE. If children were bought up with strong family values, knowing right from wrong and understanding the consequences they would have more respect for others and themselves.

Too many children seem to be foisted onto carers - so some parents can go to work to sustain a higher level of good living.

Parents, mother or father, either one, should be encouraged to bring up their own children. It should not take both parents to work just to put food on the table. The cost of living is becoming scary.

Parents need more guidance and training on bringing up children, so they too can understand the responsibility of child care. Some parents don't seem to have a clue on how to treat and bring up their children - children are not your friends, they need guidance and to know they can respect you as a parent and that you will be there for them, and that you love them.

Smacking children doesnt really work - that is only giving them attention - time out works brillantly when done correctly - no one likes to be ostracised.

The Government should help keep Mum at home (if she wants to), or Dads if Mum want to work and earns more.

The Government seems to go out of its way to ensure that both Parents work.

The children are our future - lets work together to make them the best.

Lack of respect & not being taught discipline in school.

Personally i think its too late for anything to be done, Gone are the days when a policeman gave you a clip round the ear and sent you on your way, These little S***S nowadays are so protected, They should not have any rights till they are sixteen.

I heard an intruder breaking into my shed at 4 in the morning so i let my alsation out and it got him and pinned him to the floor. When the police arrived i was told i could be prosecuted for setting the dog on him.

Just shows you what society we now live in

Perhaps this is just recycled news to distract the rest of us from the crud the government has got this country into, i.e. Iraq.
Newspapers were saying the same in the 50s about teddy boys and how society would crumble, yet it didn't!

No idea but in the early 90's I'd get stopped and searched constantly (no, I am white) we couldn't get away with carrying knives, now I notice that's stopped and I hear of gangs carrying mini swords. Labour is fine for pretending to care about the poor (or were) BUT I think it's time to get the nasty Conservatives back at least to sort out Crime.

The oldest faith, Hinduism, might answer consequently:we are able to be the two rewarded and punished in this existence and returned in an afterlife. What is going around comes around in this existence. You take area in a detrimental or selfish deed and you're the two hated by potential of others, your self, or the two. you would be attacked and punished by potential of others or by potential of your person subconscious recommendations it somewhat is type of a drop of the Cosmic understanding that connects us all. as quickly as we die our our potential leaves the physique in the back of. If our potential is advantageous, nicely, its a scientific certainty that advantageous potential rises. And detrimental potential sinks. independent potential hovers. So, the electrical powered energy it somewhat is our spirit will ,be attracted to the existence rigidity maximum desirable to it if our potential is independent and we inhabit yet another actual physique quickly and use it as a motor vehicle to re-stability the potential interior our environment. If our spirit or potential is detrimental it's going to be attracted to a detrimental decrease existence variety, and no count if that's advantageous, it's going to be attracted to an superior existence variety. Nirvana is whilst our spirit rises so severe that we start and in no way must be quickly caught in a actual physique returned. Its like we 'graduate' from existence as quickly as we attain that ingredient. Nirvana is a realm on yet another measurement that exists on an identical plane we exist in . There, each and every little thing is dazzlingly eye-catching and continues to be advantageous without fluctuating or being examined anymore with the enticements of the particular plane. we are dis-embodied spirits there, in different words we've no brains yet we've minds. we've no actual desires which includes starvation, go through no boredom. We merely experience finished bliss. meanwhile those under us ought to do the paintings of recycling the potential of the universe, by using fact the loose radicals in the atoms get knocked around and stale stability, wanting rebalancing by way of residing lives crammed with assessments we are able to easily bypass if we behave extremely and lovingly.

Because parents treat their kids like possessions and not human beings that need to be controlled. Bring back smacking and caning in school - that will get them in line. Worked for us and will work for them.

My uncle was a headteacher for many years and ended up resigning because of the violence he was subjected to my parents - yes parents - not just the children.

Something needs to be done about it now before it gets worse. Although I doubt anything will happen - the nanny state thing will bring this country down.

Well, France they burn Buses, and Cars, your always gonna have your thuggys in Britian, and America. Stupid Breeds Stupid, and parents too busy doing other things to teach kids self control. Also, teachers can't yell, or scream in the old days to put them in line, and the paddle is gone. The younger kids talk rapper English with ^$^$^$^$%, and %&^%^$%^ and I hate the pigs, I like to pimp^$%^$^$ and ^$^$^$%^ bit^$% we all know what its about. Give a kid grand theft auto, and snoop dog for educational entertainment and thats what you get.

i think todays kids are made to feel like total loosers by the whole TV culture, promoting young people who are loaded, actors, footballers etc.....todays kids feel they aint got a chance since the bench mark has been raised beyond anything normal...

i also think the above coipled with lack of decipline from parents who are also badly behaved, citezens who intervene getting prosecuted, lack of police power & courts not really giving out the right message...

all this mixed with the whole "being a bad *** is cool" leads to kids who think they are untouchable

Discipline within the home and the ability for teachers to discipline pupils has gone thanks the government. There's no respect. I wouldn't have dared told my parents that a police officer or teacher had told me off and yet parents now prosecute these people who do a fantastic job.Parents are out working and children have to fend for themselves. There is no sense of family values. Sitting up to the table to eat, turning the television and computers off and having conversations with our children.

The same thing that happened in America. The government over-meddling in the raising of our children.....

We can't whip their butts anymore (thats "physical abuse"), if we raise our voice we are "verbally abusing" them. Parents have no rights and the snot nosed brats have all the rights.
Also, greed, we have to work those looong hours to make the company more money. The kids run wild while the folks aren't around to discipline them.
