i had some plastering quotes a few years ago and they ranged from £1200 for the job to £200. I went for the cheapest but wished I hadn't (he was polish), it looked like he'd put the plaster on with a slingshot

I've been quoted anything from £125 per day for labour only (in the South West) to £150/£180 (in the London area)

Probably have to take out a second mortgage and sell your kids to pay for it, but should make a good job if they live in the South of England!

Why don't you try yourself, you might find you enjoy it as a hobby. You wouldn't have to rush the job, take your time, do a little at a time. You'd save bundle of money too.
Go to other places where men are working and ask them to show you how. I've had this done and have shown people, yes, some women trying to save money, how "to" on several aspects of repairs and decorating.
It sound like your trying to save money. Good luck.

you would be better off getting a price for the whole job rather than per day.my mate charges £160 per day but if he is on price hes always finished for 2 o clock.
most people will work harder knowing that when they finish they get paid rather than drag the job out
