Hi I m jyoti lal gaihre. I have won the lottery of Australian International Lottery Programme. It is claimed that my winning prize is deposited in Equity Bank Of Nigeria. Now the bank has asked for US$270 for official expendature. I m an ordinary man I don't have that amount of money. In this situation what can I do to get my prize? On the other hand, I have doubt in the claims of Equity Bank Of Nigeria and Australian International Lottery Programme. Because I have seen many cases of cheating by through internet. If it is true can the official expendature not be deducted from my winning prize?

Did you buy a lottery ticket?
If not this is a scam. I get about five per day.
Just delete it and ignore it..

This is a scam. There are several out their like this. A true lottery would not ask you to pay such expenditures. They continue to ask you for more and more money and you never receive anything. Unfortunately Nigeria is one of the largest perpetrators of this type of scam. If you search the Internet for lottery scams you will find a letter much like what you received if not the exact same letter.

I received a letter not long ago with a check to help me pay the expenditures, but research revealed it to be a fraud and they are now under investigation.

Please don't believe this. They are asking for money. If you were really a winner, they would not ask for a single cent. When you call up the bank, there will even be someone who will verify this. Perhaps they have someone in waiting at the phone, or they have someone inside the bank. But do not believe. The mere fact that they ask money from you is an indication that it is not genuine. if it were true, all they have to do is deduct whatever charges from your prize money. Take heed of my advice.

I've received so many emails from Nigeria and Zambabia and the Kingdom of Abracadabra when I was on Windows98.

I avoided it like the plague.

Now with Yahoo I don't see them anymore, so I don't get spammed like I used to.

Thank God!

Good riddance to all those phoney kingdoms and sons of Princes!

You didn't win anything.

It's a scam designed to get you to pay them money so you can get your "winnings" ... except you didn't win anything.
