A gorgeous stud in uniform! OK, not gonna happen but a girl can dream,...
some decent distractions: Id read tons of magazines and puzzle books in there. a daily paper can be good too, but there's rarely enough peace to read a full novel
Real food and snacks - last time I was in, they only served sandwiches.. tuna (which I hate) and cheese if you are lucky because they didn't have a kitchen of their own... but hot food is just as poor. The restaurant in there serves better food to paying visitors
If she is well enough, take her out for fresh air, it can feel wonderful after being cooped up for so long. They have wheel chairs for that
A TV used to be good, but now they provide their own for an exorbitant price - so i doubt they would allow it
remind her how much she means to you - and that you miss her (not because the washing is mounting up or the sink is full of dirty dishes....)
pictures of the family and friends on your mobile phone - you cant buy that.... and it could make her smile
and... make the house spotless before she comes home. kids and relatives can help with that one ;-)

Tickets for a weekend break - it will give her something to look forward to. Or some pampering vouchers.
You could always arrange for a beauty treatment at home, with a few friends.
It looks as if you have spoilt your wife rotten, the fact that you care so much will be cheering her up no end.
Oh, and some decent food! If she has a favourite restaurant, maybe you could have a word with them, I'm sure they would rustle up something. Maybe go over the top, and have a romantic meal together!

Yes, Gonny has got it right!!! The laptop. Time goes so fast that she will not get bored and there are videos, music e mails and sites to visit. It is the best invention ever to while away time, to make you laugh and to be in touch with your friends. Flowers die! You get bored with books because of interruptions, the hospital radio plays only what they want whereas the laptop has a choice of music. Nothing like a laptop providing she is well enough to sit up. Hugs and kisses with the laptop will be lovely.

Matters how long she is going to be in there. If she still has a while I would suggest a pic of the family. Especially if you have kids. Flowers are a given and you should have done that already. Other than that I would say just to visit as much as possible and it would be a lot better on her. It's miserable to be in a hospital.

aah bless what a sweet question. You've done the right thing with the ipod and magazines, how about a biography. Sharon Osbourne Biography "extreme" was so good, funny and incredible. Hope she gets better soon

some decent food! - i am not joking you, when i went in hospital to have my daughter i was there 2 days and was absolutely starving. I went up to the ward in the middle of the night so no-one knew i was there in the morning and i didn't get breakfast! i tried one meal there that day - it was just a plate of watery mosh!!! i was so glad when someone bought in a box of chocolates, but i longed for some food and not just sweet snacks. I had to send my partner out to the supermarket and McDonalds over the road that evening and the next day just so that i could eat!!!
I hope it's not that bad for your wife, but if it is make sure you pick up something good for her to eat while she's in there.

My ideal thing to be brought into hospital would be a pad and paper, envelopes, stamps etc,,,, theres nothing to do at hospital and gives you a fantastic chance to write to loved one's you havent spoken to for a while... What about a little hand helt tv,, i found that more than useful last time i went in,, meaning i could stay in my own bed and watch what i wanted when i wanted..... good luck

A visit from my best friend would cheer me up. For your wife; flowers, chocolates, fruit (assuming she's allowed food), a good book, a laptop?

Some Thorntons chocolates and no expectation to share them! Some books would be good, a week in hospital is boring as hell, and as much company as you can.
