I agree. very nasty. the Bible says one woman to each man, and vise versa. this is paraphased, of course.

I think its a great thing. The law's finally changed here in the UK and I'm all for it. I'm not saying a gay marriage is suitable for all gay couples like it's not suitable for all straight couples but as least you have the choice to have one or not.

You hear stories of one partner in a same sex relationship passing away and the family moving in and leaving the surviving partner with nothing. At least this way you know that no one can step in and do what they like. I'm all about equal rights etc so why shouldn't we have the option like everyone else.

If you love someone and you know it's right why can't you go to the next stage and have a civil partnership??

I don't understand why same sex marriage is such an issue. If two people love each other, they of course they should be allowed to be married. I have yet to hear a real argument besides the old " Adam and Steve" against same sex marriages. As far as I can tell, the band come from old church fogies trying to force Gay/Lesbian couples in to hell for adultery.
Man, are they in for a nasty surprise, considering that would be the actions of an Antichrist.

When two people find each other no matter what race or what creed or what sex ...it's a wonderful experience that even opposite sex marriages even fail at having when it comes to being happy.

There are so many bad marriages and unhappy people, that when I see two Men or two Women that are smiling and happy with each other...it just doesn't get better than that!

I think that you are a closed minded person for thinking that someone who loves osmeone else should be told they cannot marry. But each person has their own opinion so whatever.
I don't support marriage in any form. If you love someone great but why marry? It's pointless and stressful.
But hey if that's what you want to do then everyone should be able to marry who they want. But, if i hear that canned bs that "oh gee what's next people will want to marry animals" I will completely lose it. That is just the sign of an ignorant person who needs to take their redneck educated *** (or what passes for that) somewhere and learn the real meaning of life.

Well, in a free country should people not have liberty and freedom, rights? Even gay people? What if someone told you could not marry the love of your life? Would you just sit back and say “ohh well” or would you want the same rights as any other people who love each other?

Thank goodness I don't live in the US. a few years ago I would have been attacked if I was black, now if I was gay? Land of the free... hardlery!

Surely it cannot be any more nasty than opposite sex marriage, people have been doing this for years without society crumbling.

Seems to me allowing same-sex marriage would be a constructive way to support same-sex relationships and, subsequently, improve the situation for same-sex families.

LMAO@Apology...I hate it while suggestions are not mine too... relatively, I war with that concept. i think of frequently circumstances there are heterosexual couples that have relatively NO corporation being married and can see that possible "loving" (utilising the term ambiguously) relationships exist with same-intercourse couples. on an identical time, in spite of the undeniable fact that, I relatively have a feeling of morals and values that would not comprehend that kind of courting. I war with a great sort of different subject concerns or problems "gay marriages" ought to or ought to no longer have concerning them. I additionally think of that our society has replaced into one that would not outline marriage so strictly because it as quickly as did - i.e. open marriages, no-fault divorces, polyamory, etc (i'm neither rejecting nor accepting those). And with those in concepts, then why does our society reject gay-marriage? So, finally, like many different issues in life, i think of possible basically administration oneself and the ideas he/she makes. in basic terms my opinion and that i actually mean no disrespect to every person.

I am gay but don't really like the idea of same sex marriages as I feel it is embracing a heterosexual institution that has rejected us for so long.

I believe we show our love and commitment to our partners in our own ways.

To be honest I think marriage in itself has become an absolute joke.
Having said that, although I myself would never embrace the institution I say good luck to the gay people who do and hope that they make a better job of it than the straight people are proving to do!

It's not about forcing to pass a law - it's about equal rights. Why shouldn't a same sex couple be allowed to be as miserable as everyone else by getting married? :)

if you don't like the question don't answer it.
Good job Camila. this is not going to stop gay marriage though.
the way to do it is get it recognized in the prison system and they will find the best way to stop it.
i say make it legal. and stop oppressing gay people so they will relax the hate crime laws in relation to homosexuals.
then maybe being gay won't be so cool.
