Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

When this medicine is used for a short time at low doses, serious side effects usually are rare. However, check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

Bloating; stomach or pelvic pain

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

Blurred vision; decreased or double vision or other vision problems; seeing flashes of light; sensitivity of eyes to light; yellow eyes or skin

Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

More common

Hot flashes

Less common or rare

Breast discomfort; dizziness or lightheadedness; headache; heavy menstrual periods or bleeding between periods; mental depression; nausea or vomiting; nervousness; restlessness; tiredness; trouble in sleeping

Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your doctor.

I had so many cysts when I started on clomiphene that my ovaries looked like cookie dough rolled in M&M's (not really a pretty thought, huh?). I was prescribed this medication for 3 cycles and I conceived on the 3rd. During my first ultrasound, the doc pointed out my ovaries, and they were clear as a bell. Also, according to the ovulation predictor kits I used, I didn't ovulate in either of the last 2 months I was on it (23 weeks now, by the way). Keep trying.

I'm not sure what the side effects for extended use are, but I have a hard time imagining that you would have been given this for only one cycle. They should start off low and if that dosage doesn't work after a few cycles, they should up the dose in steps until it works or they determine it can't help you.

While I was on it, the biggest side effect that I noticed was hot flashes. I could be sitting down at the computer and be just fine, then I'd be roasting mao, and 10 minutes later I'd be cold.

If you want to conceive then you need to take Minerals (you would be able to conceive in one to two months) get this audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order, it also talks about the mineral that you need in order to conceive. I my self am very active in health care and i do not recommend Chlomiphene as most of these types of prescription medications can possibly cause a baby to be born with birth defects. In my opinion I would not suggest or recommend conventional treatments, there are alternative approaches that can be taken. I am going to copy a massage that i sent to someone the massage is about cancer but you might benefit from some of the information in this massage (BELOW) and also this massage has the contact information for the health products / minerals >>>>>>>>>>>>RE:Cancer can accrue in the body when nutritionally (malnutrition is the lack of proper Nutrition / Vitamins / Minerals ; inadequate or unbalanced nutrition) the body is not in a condition to defend it's self against free radicals and other cancer causing agents. A nutritionally deficient body that has an acidic PH could support the growth and development of cancers. The body's PH balance is a very important factor to be considered, you want to have more of an alkaline PH, to have a body that is to acidic can be very dangerous. Here is some information for you about health.I suggest a change in diet, drink a lot of clean bottled water (my guess is that this person drinks coffee or soda, these things need to be taken out of the diet for sure and smoking as well) include MINERALS (the sports one is flavored or else i think that there are others that are flavored) AND EFA dietary supplements from a company called American Longevity, phone#1-800-982-3189 2400 Boswell Road, chula vista, California 91914 be careful about the amount of the mineral supplement do not exceed more then one tablespoon a day,Vitamins, the vitamin product that i use is called E 7 (essential seven.) the telephone number is 1(888) 737-7307 i would take only one half of one scoop a day . If you do some study about what exactly it is that all of these different vitamins and minerals PURPOSE INSIDE OUR BODY'S is you will probably figure out that they can help to elevate ALMOST all symptoms of ill health, there is a audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order.

Clomiphene therapy is typically used for 5 consecutive days early in the menstrual cycle, for three to six monthly cycles. It may take several cycles to find the right dose to stimulate ovulation. Once that dose is determined, a woman will take the drug for at least three more cycles. If she does not become pregnant after six cycles, it is unlikely that further clomiphene treatment will be successful.
