Do you think we will actually have a base on the moon in the near future?

I feel if are going to ever explore our solar system the moon would be the best place to start.

What we could learn there would mirror what we could expect on other planets and moons, we'd learn what does and doesn't work in such a situation.

I think that we will have a base on the moon soon because bush said that we are going to put another man on the moon by 2015 and because we can do it, if we work together then we probably could make a base very soon.

there is a radiation belt called van allen belt.they are sources of heavy radiation and any person from earth has to bypass the belt to reach moon.it is found out that crossing the belt would lead to severe health and genetic problems.
the CEV(crew exploration vehicle) that is being designed might be able to carry crew for deep space exploration.

nasa's cut of fund by the u.s. government has led to slow down the process of exploration.

another thing is design and production of an aircraft or space vehicle will take a min of 10 yrs and may go on beyond 60 yrs with present generation technology.

If precious metals or minerals were found to have been discovered there, there would have been a race to colonise the place by now.
