I don't know about eliminate - it is inherant in humans to reproduce, hence sexual urges.

It may be possible to suppress them - look at buddhist monks, nuns, priests etc, who successfully (or not so in the case of some - ahem) take vows of celibacy. However, whilst they are celibate, this simply means they do not act on the impulses, not that they don't still have them

It was rumored that during previous wars (Like WW1) they fed the troops potassium nitrate (salt peter) to curb the desire, but it impossible to eliminate the impulses. One of the differences between man and animal is that man consciously chooses his number of offspring. It may not seem like that in some cases, but each time we make a conscious choice before we act.
Can we eliminate the impulses? No. We can, however, chose not to be ruled by our impulses.

It is not possible for someone to eliminate sexual impulses.

It is possible for someone to control their sexual impulses.

It is much easier to control impulses - sexual or otherwise - when one realizes that one has impulses.

It is the ignorance, and denial, of impulses that make them uncontrollable.

As for the physical body the question is like asking :Is it possible to stop breathing. stop heartbeat, stop being hungry. All these are possible with some external intervention of chemicals, surgery, etc. for a time.

sexual urge is no different at all. If you are keen to get rid of the impulse you can seek some external help. The body will not think of a method to stop something that is natural to itself.

lets get it straight, elimination of sexual impulses is humanly impossible. but suppressing them is. well, this will lead to a very nasty experience. sometimes suppressed impulses can vent out with such great force like lava bursting out of a dormant volcano.

"beneath our poised appearances, we are completely out of control." at a point the "why" and the "reason" are gone, we tend to yield to the impulses that act as driving forces.

as i said, it is humanly impossible but if we take divine help....then for sure we can overcome the obstacles of sexual impulses. thats much more practical, as far as i can think of it.

If you beleive in A-sexuality, then perhaps so.

However, to fully supress them, you'd have to take pretty drastic measures, as Libido is a sign of health.

Meaning to supress sexual impulses, you'd either have to remove the reproduction organs entirely, or you'd have to voluntarily make yourself sick over and over.

Michael B, that is thrilling which you %. and choose which factors of the Bible to persist with. God condemns homosexuality in one million Cor. 6:9-10 and Romans one million:24-27, yet you decide on directly to neglect approximately that. the place interior the Bible does God or Jesus approve of two human beings of the comparable intercourse to be jointly, sexually and/or in marriage? Jesus did say that a guy and lady could be united: Matthew 19:4-5 -- "have not you examine," he responded, "that on the start the author 'made them lady and male,' and suggested, 'hence a guy will depart his mom and dad and be united to his spouse, and the two will grow to be one flesh'? 6So they're no longer 2, yet one. consequently what God has joined jointly, enable guy no longer separate." EDIT: sure, I do shop silent in church, what's your element?

Yes it is possible. I would not recommend it unless you have a calling to become celibate. forcing yourself into celebacy is dangerous to your health. It is all in the mind, surrender your sexuallity to God,then a process of "Forgetting" about sex begins.
