You know how you always hear that when parents don't allow their kids to do anything growing up (usually girls) that when they do get old enough they completely rebel? This usually is a stereotype about cathoic girls. Well my parents were extremely strict with me growing up and I didn't have alot of interaction with my peers bc I was never allowed to do anything and when I turned 17 I started sneaking out of the house to meet this 22 yr. old guy for sex. All during my early 20's I experiemented with drugs and promiscuity. Is that really common for people who were raised in abnormally strict households?

My family was pretty strict. I didn't really have much interaction with my peers either. I discovered drugs and music at twelve and that kept me amused until I was old enough to go to university. The strictness really messed with my social skills but I would say that for trying to shelter me from the "bad" things of the world it just made me want to do them more. In fact, it would have been a good idea for my parents to educate me about drugs and sex and such because I did a lot of damage to myself by experimenting with things I knew nothing about.

I was raised like you and did everything under the heavens that was forbidden to me. I have matured and moved on. I think its common for all of us to have a little devil. LOL
To this day my parent don't know what I have done. I think they'll be pretty dissapointed.

Yes, it's actually the result of parents being too strict.
