I have Telewest broadband, what items do i need to contect my laptop wirlessly to my PC? The laptop already has a card to search for a internet connection and I can connect to it say in like Mcdonalds or something. So do i just need a router?

to build a simple wireless network you need the following
1. a wireless router
2. a wireless card for your pc or laptop ( pcmcia)
3. configure all the devices to use the same SSID and confgiure the same shared key

You need a wireless router that plugs into your telephone socket. Telewest should be able to provide one but from what I've heard they aren't very good quality routers. You can pick one up from any electrical store and Belkin is quite a good brand. I think they're around £50

Yes you do need a router but you need to make sure you get the right one.
You need to make sure you find out if it's a ADSL connection or a DSL connection because you could end up wasting your money by getting the wrong one.
Check with the ISP which connection you have.

Yes you just need a router. Make sure you don't get an ADSL modem/router though - as you're on cable, you will already have a modem, so you just need the router part which plugs into the modem.

yes all you need is a wireless router.....
a decent one if you arent looking for anything spectacular will run you about 20-30 bucks
look for wireless-g compatibility which is faster than the old wireless-b
