I don't have any peanut butter...I don't like it. I do have soy nut butter (which I love!!). I keep it in the cupboard. When I was a kid, I put the peanut butter in the fridge once and my mom got mad 'cause it made it too hard or something.

The processed peanut butter made with hydrogenated vegetable oil can be kept in a cupboard. Natural peanut butter must be refrigerated or the natural peanut oil in it will become rancid. I keep my peanut butter in my husbands mouth. It helps him stay quiet.

Cupboard, unless I have the all natural no preservative kind. Seems, though, that I read somewhere that peanut butter has some kind of natural preservative, but I don't trust that.
