Smile is a small curve which makes many a thing straight!!! I smile to show my happiness and sometimes to share the happiness of others i.e. my friends.

i always smile when i remember a dirty joke i heard, or something funny a friend has said.. sometimes if i hear a line from a great song.
i love finding myself smiling when alone because it feels really genuine, & people think i'm crazy. that just makes me smile even more.

From my experience, I smile for friendship, gratitude, humor, good quotes, excellent ideas, fantastic phrases and sentences in good stories or novels, etc. Moreover, if I meet someone I've known, I smile to greet him/her; it's my nonverbal expression trying to say, "I like/love you."

For me it is , always, an expression of gratitude and thanks giving. That I have been noticed, cared for, respected, helped ........ any such basic human considerations make me smile and acknowledge .
