Why do the troops know about Kerry's "Insult", but 50% of them still think Iraq coordinated the 9/11 attacks?

I don't know for a fact how widespread Kerry's "Insult" is in Iraq (although I suspect..."very") but it has been reported many times this year from a variety of sources that troops still believe there is a connection between Iraq and 9/11. Don't worry, they aren't alone in misinformation. One report said that close to 50% of Americans believed in the middle of 2006 that Iraq had WMDs, *UP* from 2005! ????

You know given the climate, let me clarify. When I say the troops "still believe there is a connection", what I mean to infer is that "they have not yet been told there ISN'T a connection".

I was dumbfounded when I read it. Having been working for the Military, it is easy to see how this can happen. As an example of even in this great country with our wonderful FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. . .during the COLD WAR we were all lead to believe that the women in RUSSIA were fat and ugly. . .This was the way the news media displayed it all the time. Even using this concept in advertising. Once the Cold War ended, Wallah. . suddenly the most beautiful women appeared out of that country which turned heads around all over the globe. We, outside of a war zone are still being duped today, just imagine the type of propaganda our troops are being fed by their commands, under the orders of Dumbsfield!!

I traveled to many bases, and I can honestly state that in their cafeterias/mess halls the TV was always on the same channel. . .FOX NEWS. . .and I am not kidding.

Gimme a break !! I seriously doubt that 50% of the troops in Iraq are aware of what Kerry said. They are pretty busy with important stuff like keeping Iraqi civilians & themselves alive. Most of those that did hear his comments know he did not slander them. Our people in uniform can read the words and understand them. And they all know almost all the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi Arabian, and were not sent by any government.

I really can not believe what some of you people think. Do you REALLY believe what you are saying?! I am in the military and I will tell you just because the troops are over in Iraq doesnt mean they don't know current events. They have access to internet, TV, and can talk to family back home. They know Iraq didnt coordinate the attacks. Its been said from after 9/11 Iraq didnt coordinate the attacks. Where the hell do you get your info from? NO ONE said Iraq planned or had anything to do directly with the attacks moron.
By the way, if they watch more than just FOX news but after most see the way other news outlets cover things in such a biased way, they are more inclined to watch FOX News because out of any of the stations they are the most balanced. Results just came out that show how NBC, CBS, and CNN show an overwhelming majority of pro democrat and negative republican stories and views. Even with this Kerry thing, those outlets covered Kerry's comment in such a biased manner crying foul that people are taking what he said "out of context" and 'oh his words are being twisted and how can republicans do such a thing'. Such bull. They cant even cover a story correctly without spinning the story to suit what they want, and thats for republicans to win. They cant report on the news and comment on what is right or wrong with out twisting things for thier own goals. For one thing, current troops have called out against what Kerry said and have tried to voice thier opinion. Did you see that on any of those bs networks? Of course not. And wether Kerry was joking or not, he screwed up big time by saying that the way he did. THEN he makes this false and half-apology two days later on the fricking internet. He most likely meant what he said because it wasnt the first time he has done or said something negative about our military who serves to protect our way of lives. His Post Vietnam circus act, and last year on foreign soil he speaks out against our troops saying they just terrorize women and children. The guy has issues and he even shames his own party. Even democrats have spoke out against him after his most recent comments.
I really do not know where some of you people develop your way of thinking or even get your false facts. No one in the world believes Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 and no one ever did. They were probably suspected when it first happened but it was well known by the entire world who was really behind 9/11 shortly after it happened. For once...just once, cant everyone think about what is right and what is wrong. Set aside your hate for Bush and your choosing of sides of politics and think about whats right and wrong for this country. You may hate Bush but you cant tell me anyone else would be much better or even close to making us safer as we are now (of course we need to work on protecting our borders still). The economy is even doing well even after Katrina and 9/11 and a current war in Iraq and Bush isnt getting credit for it. ANY other president would have. The man is doing what he feels and knows is best for america. He cares for americans and is trying to keep us safe, spread democracy, and frankly make the world safer. He is human and has made mistakes, every president has. Every human being has. But he has no hidden agendas. And instead of putting down and attacking Bush like children why cant democrat leaders offer how things could be better and how else we can win in Iraq? They never offer answers or what they would do different, only criticism.

If I had to endure those conditions and fight, I'd want to believe it was for a purpose. Focusing on Kerry's supposed insult would help me to believe that the country had chosen wisely in 2004 on Bush (and the war).

First of all most of the Marines, Sailors, Airman, Soldiers and other Guardsmen arent paying attention to any of these spin stories, just like most citizens.
