depending on how well it is running you might want to think about having a look at the filters (oil, fuel, air) and the plugs. this would be done around every 12 thousand miles or so, if you dont have any service history then it will be worth having a full service done now, then you can get a new service record and start from scratch.

The american practice is to change the oil every 3000, in UK we go a little longer and change the oil at 6000 and use synthetic oil.
