Rain and snow melt that feeds to rivers, ponds, lakes and reservoirs. When needed for irrigation, gates are opened to channel the water to the desired location.

It comes from wells, rivers, and lakes..some flow into irrigation canals the water is pumped directely into the fields from any of these sources.
