In Ireland they have PR (proportional representation) though I have voted for someone who has become an MP (or TD) but their party hasn't won the election.

About 75% win for the candidate I vote for. I generally do not vote for shoe-ins. I try hard to vote for the best man or woman according to my feelings for the issues.

here in Canada we aren't allowed to chose "none of the above" so I vote for the person least likely to win in order that my vote doesn't count towards electing a total wanker!
