There's this girl and was a family friend of mine, who's actually been a friend, since childhood. We grew up with each other. When we were kids, she liked me in a different way, sort of, "crush-like", but that eased off later, in herself. Basically, we remained as good family friends.

After a few years, we became adults and I turned 18. I became attracted to this family friend. So, one special night, when my parents held a fine dinner party in a 5* hotel, we sat with each other, like good family friends, dining and talking. She looked pretty, as always!

When the time was right, I asked her out, after a long-term family-friendship of 20+ years, and she said, "NO". :(. She broke my heart into a 1000 pieces and said to me, that, I was only a GOOD FAMILY/BROTHERLY-TYPE friend. Later on, our friendship broke off, but she still had minor feelings.

4+ years passed of no-commun.. Is it possible for me to get her back and will she understand me now, so that she can fall in love/marry?

Hmm To marry you ??

Pfft bro first of all you gotta get into her life again. Try to see where she is now with all her feelings , what her life is like...People change quiet a lot in 4 years ( even in a single year ).

Talk to her and watch the signs signals anythin tht can give you clues on her feelings for you. And then make a move to go out again ,steady. You can get her to fall in love with you , but I hope you have it all naturally.

Good luck mate. Don't give up on your chances if She's THE ONE you wanna be with till the rest of your life. The one you think who completes you.

well it's sounds like you never had her in the first place, so i don't even know what you mean by getting her back. It's not good news when a girl refers to you as a brotherly type. and 4 years of no communication? do you know if she's still single? seems to me that this might just be a situation where you would just have to move on.

if you know how to contact her, why don't you just talk to her or write her an email or something and tell her that you would like to date her. if she still says no, then give it up.

Write or call her and tell her that she's still in your thoughts and ask if she is interested in pursuing a dating relationship with you. The worst thing she can say is "No". If you don't ask, it will surely be "No". It's possible, but not probable, that she'll say "Yes".

If you have the courage to ask, maybe you'll have a chance with her. If you don't, you won't. If she doesn't want to pursue it, accept it and move on. If you have trouble doing that, see a counselor to work through the issue.

If you really want something, you have to work hard for it.Some girls like to play hard to get.Like myself, for some women it is very sexy and a turn on,when the man doesn't quit asking.I was sooooo attracted to my now husband of 12 years, but i told him no several times of asking. And i was surprised to find out that it turned him on too.Anyways keep on trying, don't give up.

Nope... sorry brother. 4 years is a long time. She's probably with someone else. Best to let it be and not risk loosing the friendship too.

No she won't. No matter how you want it, she's just not that into you. Find someone else and move on, sometimes people don't want to be with/marry their family friends because its like marrying your own sibling!

I don't think so...

You should hold out for someone who is instantly enamored with you regardless of the circumstances. You are young yet, later on you will find a beautiful wife, and you won't even think of it....

You have one of the worst cases of one-itis I have ever seen.

The girl said no, and that is that.

Go find another girl and stop whining like a little wuss.
