Having them each pick out a special Christmas ornament at Hallmark each year is fun and by the time they grow up, they'll have a large collection of keepsake ornaments.

Helping to decorate the tree is always good and little ones can hang the plastic beads or non breakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree.

Also, they can dictate a letter to write to Santa and then leave it with milk and cookies--kids are always excited to see that the cookies and milk were eaten in the morning.

Family (or just the two little ones) Christmas pictures at Sears/Penny's.

Read them the Polar Express before bed!

Hope this gives you a few ideas to work with. :)

The traditions that were passed to me are these: The day after Thanksgiving was always reserved for putting up the Christmas tree. The children always got to help decorate. On Christmas Eve night, the kids got to pick one gift that mommy and daddy had bought (usually clothes) and open it. Then, of course, wake up really early on Christmas Day to open all the gifts that Santa brought. Hope you can start some Christmas traditions of your own.

We start after Thanksgiving by Decorating the house with Christmas music to get us in the spirit. Christmas Eve the big family feast. Every year my dad makes his famous crab sauce with linguini! I have a three year old now and I read him the Birth of a Savior on Christmas eve. I want him to know y we are celebrating the day!! We watch all the Christmas shows every year (I haven't missed one yet and I am 37 lol) I love Christmas - wish the spirit was kept alive all year long!! God Bless!

When my sons were small my mum knitted a red stocking for each of them with their names on. They are both adults now but I still put some small gifts in them each year.

Each Christmas eve I would read them "The Night Before Christmas" and leave a few biscuits and a glass of milk for Santa

We began having our Christmas celebrations on Christmas eve because my dad always worked weird hours. We had a big family with spouses, kids, relatives and friends stopping by, it was always a house full. Any one who showed up was welcomed. Now 25 years later we have a lot less people, dad passed away 4 christmases ago, but we still celebrate on Christmas eve as usual.

One of our traditions ever since my girls were toddlers (they're now 15 and 18) they were able to open one gift on Christmas Eve and it was always new PJs and slippers. I still continue the tradition every year. They loved it then and they still love it now.

this one was passed down from my mother and all of her 3 kids do it in their families. Each family members gifts are wrapped and placed under the tree. Each person has 1 kind of wrapping paper on all their presents. For instance one year mine were white, my sister's red, and my brother's green. With my children I look for paper with reindeer for my son, and pink for my daughter. They know which presents are theirs at a glance, and it is fun.
