Can i make a Quick Time movie file smaller?

my digital cameras videos are made into quick time files when downloaded .... but they are too larger to send ppl ...is there anyway i can make this smaller?

if you copy it to a cdr it should give you the option to make a data disk. pick that. but you can only play the cdr in the pc. but it will be smaller.
