There may be a "frequent role" shared by many women, but there should be no set role for women. There's a difference between the two different roles of role.

I think it really depends on your culture and the type of background you come from. What may be a norm for you may not be the normal for someone else who was raised differently. For example, in the states men & women share the household responsibilities (cooking, cleaning) while in other countries it's unacceptable for men to have to clean the house.
Another ex. there are women who were raised with a mother who worked and the father was a "stay at home" dad...this is the way she was raised...all she knows...so this is the gender she'll most likely take on.

there isnt any kind of roles for the modern day woman..they can do whatever they like. Men and woman are treated equally these days..so if your a woman live a little!

gender roles are different for every culture, as it is a cultural construct, not a biological one
