Recently, the last few days about mid day I begin to feel a pressure in my head, it becomes hard to speak or make sense of what people are saying to me. I feel unsteady, clumsy and my right arm becomes slightly numb and my neck begins to hurt, on the left side, I know, wierd huh. I am 52 and have not experienced this before ..it last between 1 and 2 hours each time it occurs. I am not asking for a diagnosis, just suggestions, am I just too stressed out or what? It is interferring in my work day and I need to know how to make it stop. Please only serious answers, I need some advice.

No sir, nothing weird about this, I'm not trying to alarm you, but having worked 24 years as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Room and ICU. You have the classic, textbook picture, of some sort of neurological abnormalities. Could be TIA's transit ischemia attacks, mild stoke. I'm not a doctor cannot diagnosis. However I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU WITH MY ENTIRE HEART AND SOUL, TO GO THE EMERGENCY ROOM NOW. PLEASE DO IT NOW, THESE SYMPTOMS ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE EVALUATION BY A PHYSICIAN. THESE ARE STRONG WARNING SIGNS, THAT SOMETHING IS AMIDST. BELIEVE ME PLEASE, WHATEVER YOUR DOING, STOP NOW AND GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. MANY NEUROLOGICAL PROBLEMS CAN BE STOPPED, WITH THE PROPER TREATMENT. Now I pray they will find nothing, but again please trust me and go NOW. Thanks for the opportunity to address such a well thought out, intelligent and most worthwhile question.

Numbness is not a good sign. You should get your blood pressure checked out, get your heart checxked, and get a catscan because you could have a tumor. I know you don't want a diagnosis...but you can never be too sure. Brain tumors sually have the pressure and make it hard to think or understand, and if you throw up go quick to the emergency room please.
I would say to reduce stress as much as possible. Get regular exercise. Eat oatmeal, eat healthy. Go to your doctor- the best advice and probably the only advice people here will give you. They'll give you a checklist of destressors, but you need to rule out the tumor and heart/stroke/clot...

These are classic symptoms of stroke or TIA (commonly called mini strokes). It's not weird at all, but is very serious. You must visit an ER immediately to make sure this is not a stroke. They have powerful drugs that can stop and heal certain types of strokes but they must be given in a specific time frame. Also, if you are having TIA's there are excellent medications that will help that and hopefully prevent an actual stroke. PLEASE go to the ER now! I know this is scary but you need medical attention ASAP.

You really need to be checked out. You may be having T.I.A.'s or mini strokes. If I were you I would not wast any time to get to the doctor, and yes stress can be a part of it. I wish you the best.

I think that this sounds serious. You need to go to the doctor immediately. It could be a mild stroke or a clot or something along those lines but those symptoms are not to be ignored. Please do something about it right away. Consider it an emergency.

strong headaches could be high blood pressure. Arm numbness could be a sign of a mini stroke, specially if it's the right arm. Go see a doctor, please! don't wait anymore. Who cares if you have to be absent from your work, your health goes first!

See your doctor asap!! It could be a number of things, but the numbness concerns me. You could have some blockage in your brain, an aneurysm, or it could be a migraine.

you need to call 9-1-1- pronto...and go to your local ER to have a cat scan done with contrast to see if you have a tumor, aneurysm, ateriovenous malformation (AVM), pending stroke (CVA), or a carotid artery blockage and no crossover in the circle of willis to get collateral flow form the opposite carotid. this sounds very life threatening to me and you need to be seen very soon!
