If I were to list three, there would be repeats on my list, but I can give you one additional cause. Many times accidents are caused by people who drive recklessly (tailgate, pass where they have no business passing, drive 90 mph in a 55mph zone and expect everyone to get out of their way) because whatever the reason is that they are on the road (whether it's to get to work, the mall, the bar, Heinz Field for the Steeler game, etc.) is THE most important reason in the world. So, since it's so important, they will sit right on your bumper at 65 mph (ever see a NASCAR race--just like that.) in an effort to make you either speed up or move over. I've seen people use the shoulder to pass cars, motorcycle riders come right down the lane divider lines and squeeze between two cars, and drivers who weave in and out or traffic and not even look to see if they are past a car before they swerve back over to go around the next. Well, anyway I'm beginning to rant, but you get the idea.

If someone dies, you're probably in jail.I don't really understand the question, but :
1. You drink, you drive, you kill yourself or some innocent family.
2.You sight see, you steer the way you are looking (it's a natural thing) and you run off the road
3. You talk on the cell phone and drink your coffee, you go around a corner, and oops there's a car and you don't have enough hands to do all three. CRASH.
Then you have to fix everyone's cars, have no wheels and pay more insurance, if everybody's alive... then, you have NO $$$$. If someone died, you're probably in jail, and don't have to worry about driving anymore.

3 Causes of a car accident:
1) Burst of car wheel because of over heating or because the wheel was pumped to hard!
2) Drunk driving
3) Driving 17 hours straight and getting tired, senses that you are using to prevent car accidents, is then not as sharp as usual, or you fall asleep behind the wheel!!!
3 Effects of car accidents:
1) People can get seriously injured or even worse die
2) It can cause traffic to be delayed
3) Innocent bystanders can also get killed or injured!

I'd say the #1 cause is driver distraction ie: talking on phone, eating, changing radio station, kids in the car. Others could be driving to fast/to slow, animal or pedestrian wanders into road, driving intoxicated. Effects would be injury, non-injury, jail, citation, death.
