I plan on letting my kids each pick A name off the Angel Tree . This will be our first year able to give back instead of receive. I also have planned to help our schoolwith there toy drive and put mittons on our mitton tree at church. I think it is wonderful to help people that need us .

I decided to make it an option at work that my employees donate money to Toys for Tots instead of ANY Christmas gifts. None of us are in need of anything, not in the way that other children are. So I thought that was a good way to help.
I also donate to the food pantry in my area and typically pick a name off a tree at a store to be a Secret Santa. If I were rich, I'd buy TONS of stuff every Christmas for other people less fortunate. I would have so much fun doing that!!!! It's what the season is all about... giving and sharing!

We doing those Shoe boxes mentioned. I may work at either serving food with the Salvation Army, Going and spending time with an elderly home (want to set up an Aquarium for them) and I am growing my Beard, so, may try a Children's Hospital or something and be Santa. It in the air how all this go down as I am looking and asking around now. I do always find one of those Chrismas Trees and get a boy and girl something.

Every Christmas I volunteer for the Salvation Army. I participate in the Angel Tree at the mall, both behind the table and going out to buy gifts for needy kids or seniors. This year I'll probably be a bell ringer at least one day at the Victorian Christmas gift convention.
I also plan to donate used clothing and warm coats to the local battered womens' shelter.

Hi,
Every year my my daughter (she is 17 years old right now) gives presents to Toys For Tots and she buys at least 6 gifts or more because she likes to buy for:
an infant girl and infant boy
a toddler girl and toddler boy
and an older girl and older boy.
My daughter has been buying Toys for Tots ever since she was in 8th grade.
I on the other hand, buy presents for a local Elementary school in my neighborhood and not only do I buy for a few of the children...but I also buy for their brothers and sisters.
So this is our way of helping others this holiday season and also for the holiday season's in the past.
By the way, I think it's great that you are involved in helping others too. Please keep up the good work and may you have a happy holiday season yourself.

I am a member of a world-wide fraternity that is instantly noticed around the world as a major contributor to the well being and medical care of children.......
Outside of the consistant work that we do throughout the year in the caring for crippled and burned children---at Christmas our local chapter proceeds with the presenting of no less than three local ----special Christmas parties for area care facilities dealing with children and their families who are in serious trouble with pyshical and financial problems---it is some of the most spiritually rewarding work that one can do---you walk away every single year with far more than you could have possibly ever given !!!!!!!
Every one who can---should do something
and , the world would be a much different place for all !!!!!!

I have been writing Santa letter to all the kids in my family. I usually have about 15 or so when it comes time to mail them out. Neighbors and other relatives began asking me to send one to the kid, so now my list is longer. I buy gifts for needy kids and drop them off at the drop boxes. Mom and I used to do up food baskets from thanksgiving til Christmas eve and spend all of Christmas eve driving to the elderly peoples dropping off the food, made lots of people cry. They thought no one remembered them.

Except for a couple of years, since 1989 I have adopted a child for Christmas. I don't know them and they don't know me, but I choose a name (usually a girl) the age (I usually choose between 5-10 yrs) and them I try to buy them what they have on their wish list.

This year my son is three and he is very excited about Christmas - I have always donated money instead of my time I want to do something to teach him how to be charitable to others and keep it as a tradition. Our church does some wonderful things and I am going to ask them for ideas. But its on my TO DO List for sure. God Bless!
