What are they saying about this person?

It could be just a random insult with no implications, but if there is an implication, it would be that of a lazy, useless, self-centered person who lives off of others, exploiting their patience, love and what not; using them, in a word. Think fleas on a cat/dog: they just suck the animals' blood and live like that, not contributing anything to the animal, only feeding on them and irritarting them.

A parasite in nature is an organism that attaches itself to another usually larger organism to feed from it...like a leech, or a tapeworm, or a tick.
So a human that's like a leech is a "parasite".

They are saying the person is a leech who sucks off of others but gives nothing in return. Someone who is a taker and not a giver.

It might look like this: The friend who comes to visit and never leaves, but eats your food without offering to pay for it, leaves dirty laundry for you to clean, borrows money he never repays, and borrows all your stuff but doesn't take care of it. He lives off of you, he uses you, cleans you out, sucks your energy and you can't get rid of him! Usually they have a history of doing this and you are just one more person in a long list.

i would assume they are calling this person useless, a nuisance...just as a parasite is

some one that depends on everyone else, doesn't do anything for themselves and expects everyone to give them everything. just like a parasite, they latch on to something else to feed them, care for them, and nuture them.

they are saying that this person is getting under their skin......a real pest/bug......thats what i mean when i use this word......
