Ive got a dell laptop ad its excellent. I went to their website and picked all the features i wanted and they built it for me. It cost me under 2000. It will all depend on what you want in terms of features. You can get a bear bones laptop from almost any electronics/computer store. If you want it for gaming/music and more advanced functions-- it will cost more.
Check out dell.com or dell.ca depending on where you are.
with 2000 you should be able to get a great laptop-- but shop around for what is best for you

you can get a really good laptop from HP
just customize a laptop with the best specs and you'll have a really good laptop for around 1,500
