Both are correct. When using relative pronouns "which" and "that" can be used with things, you could even use "who" if you consider the dog a person. Further more "that" can be used in all situations (people and things).

from what i learned, that is used for animals, which can be used for animals or humans, and who is for humans.

so the correct sentence would be "a dog that got lost was recently found"

however, a better way to phrase this sentence would be "a lost dog was recently found."

Both "which" and "that" are OK, with "that" being preferred because in the spoken language it can't be confused for a non-restrictive which... think "The dog was lost, which made people..."
The pronoun "who" would be used only by people who love dogs so much they see them as persons - cute and sweet and (yawn) and grammatically all wrong.

Neither. 'A dog, which was lost, was recently found' would be more proper. Or, 'A lost dog was recently found'.

I would leave GOT out of the sentence and use WAS. That should make it sound better either way.

"That".
Or make it a bit more personal - "who".
