yes it does close during pregnancy. a tubal pregnancy should still give you a + test, but could be a false neg if you're not very far along. if it was a blood test, they test for the actual amount of pregnancy hormone in your body so that would right.

Your cervix closes once you are done ovulating-hence why you can't get pregnant anymore. When pregnant--something called the mucus plug develops in your cervix to prevent bacteria-etc. from getting in there. If they gave you a pregnancy test (which they should have) at the ER then you already should know your answer.

when you are pregnant a mucous plug closes your cervix to protect the baby. As you dilate your cervix opens and eventually the plugs falls out (bloody show). However, I don't know how soon in a pregnancy your cervix would be closed.

I don't think your cervix can close up. tubal preg means its growing in your tubes.

My doctor commonly recorded the size of my cervical opening, mine was never closed. But the opening size did change throught my pregnancy. I do not know if that is "normal" I did have complications w/ my pregnancy.
