Solar panels, they had problems with one of them when it first went into orbit and thought it would be lifeless drifting in space.
Once the space shuttle let go of it they only had a short period of time to move it into it's correct orbit before it's power cells completely went dead, I believe they did an emergency space walk to repair it.
