I've heard alot about this book, mostly good stuff and i was wondering if it was worth the buy and hoping someone could give me a "you'll prolly like "the androids dream" if you liked..." type of deal.

I unequivocally give it a high rating. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
It was worth the money and then some. Do I sound to enthusiatic? I hope so...

As for the "you'll like it if you liked...." answer, I honestly don't know. I can't think of anything right off the top o' my head that is very similiar. That I think is the strength of this book. It is smart, funny, serious, action packed, and just an all around good time. There were several times I could not help but laugh out loud. But it is not all comedy by any stretch.

I'll stop now, but it is a great book.

I haven't read the book yet, but I have to say I intend to read it as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything he's written so far.

If you enjoy his writing as much as I do, you might want to check out his blog: http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/
