Someone who was mad at me told me "You disgust me...I can see your black roots!" and then she walked away from me. Do you think she was referring to my hair, cause I didn't dye my roots for about 2 months and my natural hair color is black. Or, was she referring to the fact I'm half Black?

Uh............

I'd hope she meant your hair, but I'm assuming she meant your heritage. Go kick her in the crotch just for good measure.

Of course give people the benefit of the doubt. Everything doesn't have racial undertones. But think about it who says "I hate you, and oh yea your roots are really dark."? So the way this is stated it seem sort of racial. The part 'you disgust me' seems directed to you in anger... the 'I can see your black roots' probably was a indirect stab at the fact at how you might have been acting in the moment and viewed as being stereotypically black to her. (ex: ghetto, loud, or a diva)
No matter how proper or "white-acting" you can be, you might always be viewed being black or half-black by all races. That probably was the only thing she could think of to say, to try and hurt you. Believe me other races do get loud/diva-ish when mad. I wouldn't even let something like this bother me. Let it go.

Probably it was the" hair roots", you never told the color of your hair. Maybe the dye and the natural color weren't complimenting you.

That was a dumb comment that person made. I think she was saying you have more black features that overpower your white features. She could also be saying you act very "Ghetto" at certain moments.

But it depends on what type of person she is. If she said it in a sarcastic mannor and she's your friend, or someone into hair care or fashion, she may have been speaking about your hair.

Maybe you should ask her what she meant by that.

I wouldn't even worry about it. Since your hair roots were in fact showing, just assume that is what she meant and don't stress about it. Either way it was stupid for her to say.

LOLOL, some people.

I would honestly say - why view it as racism when you can see black roots in your hair? Don't create hate when you can laugh about it and move on. ;)

Usually referring to how you acted towards that person. If you were rude then this implies that you have a darker side.

I think it was a comment on your hair. Just trying to be catty. I wouldn't stress it either way.
