I don't mean which BRAND...I mean which TYPE? 10W-40? SAE30? Etc? And yes, I know this is probably in the owner's manual somewhere but I bought the car used years ago, and I'm not even sure if it had a manual with it at the time of purchase. If it did, it's long gone by now. Suggestions?

With this car being the age that it is, With I am assuming more than 100K miles, I would run 10W 30.
However, Nissan has proven to perform very well with a synthetic blend, or even better a full synthetic oil.
If it were mine, I would run a sythetic blend 10W 30,
untill it reached near the 200K mark, and then I would switch to a full synthetic.10W 30.
Reason being, synthetic is a thicker consistancy, and will stay on moving parts longer than conventional oil.

30 or 40 weight are the best way to go, because of the year of the car. Usually I use a 40 on anything older than a 90. The 10W 30 is good yes but at operating tempature the oil runs thru as a 10W not a 30W.

15w 30 and change oil every 5,ooo kms it turboed as this will lenghten the life of motor and trubo any brand will work fine but the more expensive the thiner and more additives it has eg that real expensive moble oil great stuff but will leak out of seals badly from any monor worn seal so cheap and change regulary is ok if you race hard all the time like track racing then expenise

A synthetic 10w30. 5w30 wouldn't be right for that old a vehicle.
