Where i live they don't wear gloves also! i talked to the Health Associates and they said that Taco Bell is supposed to wear gloves but Associates don't do anything! You should hang a sign on the enterance so people are aware that they are going to eat a place that doesn't have a safe way to prepare food.

It is a law per the county health dept that they must wear gloves. If they don't, call the health dept straight away and report them.
The Taco Bells that I have been to, everyone wears gloves.
In response to a previous poster who mentioned that some people have allergies, they should not be employed anywhere around food if they cannot wear gloves.

I'm in Ontario and I usually go through the drive-thru at Taco Bell. Next time I'll be going in just to check, thanks for letting us know.
I was once at Harvey's (a burger joint in case you don't know) and the girl was breaking up the cheese for my poutine with her bare hands right after taking my money. I complained and asked for another.
Makes you wonder what really goes on with your food before you eat it. That's why I like going to places like Subway where you can see everything that's going on with your food and they always wear fresh gloves.

In Australia you dont have to use gloves by law. All the food preperation is done without using gloves. But when it comes to serving the food you must use gloves or tongs. But even when using gloves, people cant feel when they should change them. So therefore they wont change them as often. So using there hands might be cleaner. Dont like it... Report it or dont eat there...

I work at a popeye's in arkansas and the owners own the taco bell's in arkansas and they wear gloves and we wear gloves too. I would call their customer complaint line and complain about the gloves and the complaint goes to their owners and maybe they will get gloves because they don't have to wear them but like i say down here in arkansas we wear them and constanly change them.

Most times ive made a point to notice, people at multiple restaurants haven't worn gloves, and when I worked at a fast food restaurant we didn't wear gloves either. However, where I worked, you CONSTANTLY had to wash your hands. Everytime you touched your face/arm/clothes/anything that wasn't food basically, you had to wash your hands with soap and water - and between those times with antibacterial gel, and it was a very small place so they saw when you did things and didnt wash your hands and youd get in lots of trouble. It was insane, I probably did more hand washing then anything else.
I somehow doubt thats how it is at other places, but it could be.

I have done quite a bit of research on food safety and inspections. In many states it is required by LAW that they MUST have gloves on. It is very odd if they say that they don't need to by law, but if I were you I would call the health department of your state because you can make a complaint anytime and it is really fast and easy and trust me, if they aren't wearing gloves then I bet if you look on the floor you'll see rat droppings and roaches too.

I never noticed that. I have been involved with a lot of food service environments and have never been told not to wear gloves when handling ready foods. On the contrary, in every establishment I have dealt with, it has not only been company policy, but required by law. I'm sure if you spoke with your local health department they would correct this unsanitary situation.
