Reports out of espn have that Soriano will end up in either New York or Philadelphia with the teams in a bidding war which team will win?

I would think Philadelphia aswell, mabye a team like the Dodgers would show a small bit of interest, Angels mabye. (the teams that have some pitching, but would like some runs)

Can't see either NY team getting in on that action. The yankees really need another outfielder (Abreu, Melkey, Damon, Sheffield (option), Bernie (?), Matsui.

The Mets need some pitching, Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, Lo Duca provide enough offense right there, and they will fill in the gaps with some solid players, but man they need some pitching.

I can't really see Boston going after him too much, as its going to be a lot of money to committ over a long period. Maybe i am wrong, it depends on what happens with Manny i guess. I can see them not going after Soriano knowing Manny will be back because they can't trade him. And if the Sox play well, and the clubhouse gets to be fun again, Manny will live with Boston.

The Phillies have a half-decent pitching staff, Utley, Howard, Soriano thats a pretty good offense, plus with the other guys they have. It would make the Phillies a team to watch, great PR boost for the team and the city "we are here to win today" (a bit different from 2007-08 midyear when they sold everyone and them almost stole the wildcard)

First of all I think Soriano wants to go to a team that will let him play second base, He did not like being put in the outfield in Washington. With that in mind, I don't the Philies is where he will end up, they have Chase Utley already.

The two New York teams are possibilities given their respective options at second, but both those teams would be much better served going after younger (and healthier) starting pitchers.

There's a part of me that hopes the Jay's get involved in chasing him, move Aaron Hill to fill their void at shortstop and possibly play meaningful ball in September '07.

I don't think any team has the buying power that the New York teams have. I think that New York would win the bidding war.

i would say that philadelphia will just because i think the yankees need to bolster up their pitching since matsui should be healthy again next year, and with damon in center i dont think they need to be crituqing their outfield. The phillies lost abreu to the yankees and it wouldnt hurt their offensive production. If the yankees really want him they can outbid the phillies, but i believe the yankees will only offer so much, and the phillies will offer a little more.

He will end up with the mets. Hears why, the mets need a second basemen, well move jose back to second and have alfonso play short. Hows that all-star infield for you.

First-Carlos Delgado
Second-Jose Jose Jose Jose Reyes
Short-Alfonso Soriano
Third-David Wright
Catcher-Paul LaDuca
Greatest Infield Ever!!!!!!!!!

I believe Philidelphia as well. The Yankees have no where to put him. The Yankees, however, have Jeff Suppan on the radar
