Probably 90% of the people that own cell phones don't need them or could get by without them. Now that's really weird!

I'm with you, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I got my first cell phone last year when our family got so busy an chaotic. Now I get no peace and quiet...
It's a sign of the times, everyone always in communication all the time... I LIKED being old fashioned. And I'm NOT giving up my rotary phone in my kitchen. They can drag me in to the tech future, but I will go kicking and screaming.

Everyone is in the high tech mode. If you are a bit old fashioned, i think it is great. I just recently got one because my mother and sister would have a fit if I went shopping at night without a cell phone. If you ever broke down it would be nice to have.

Up until a few months ago, I didn't have one. Most of the people I told didn't believe it either. I guess they thought everyone around my age had/needed one because it's so essential for a lot of people that they couldn't go a day without theirs. But, personally, I don't really care for phones all that much.
[I only got one to speak to my bf]

People become accustomed to cell phone and cannot imagine life for themselves without one. Ergo, they cannot understand how someone could not have one today. [They're even buying them for elementary school kids!]

Makes sense to me. They probably can't handle the fact that you don't feel the need to get one just because everyone else has one. Good for you. :)
