I can't be hypnotized or even put into a relaxed state of consciousness. I've had several doctor's try to hypnotize me and it never worked. I guess they thought it would help me relax or something which is a nice idea.

If you have a low attention span, it will be difficult to be hypnotized.

Maybe you haven't met the right hypnotherapist. I have seen the pros work and tapes of one that could hypnotize anyone. Some people go into trance easily. Personally I think that is because those people are more in touch with their subconscious mind and right brain.

You can hypnotize yourself. You don't say what type of Doctors or if you are on medications of some kind. But you can easily learn to do it yourself. As you come to understand that you are never giving up your control of yourself to someone else, you can begin to relax and allow it to just happen. A lot of mind/body medicine is done with hypnosis.

You are in control of your mind; you have to let yourself be hypnotized. If you are at all nervous about it or unwilling to let go, it won't happen.

some people's minds easily give up control but others hang on. some people's mids pass off control and are relaxed easily, others cant be relaed at all. it depends on the person and their mind's willinginess to pass off control.
