Kiss the tree good bye.
What are you going to do when the tree gets bigger?

I learned this lesson the hard way by trying to grow an avocado tree in an area that has a very mild front in the winter.

Sooner or later you are going to forget to cover it at night.

Try taking the tree out of it's container and loosening the roots, then re-pot the tree with new soil, (Miracle Grow), and a lot of love, remember plants do not react so fast so have patience with her.

Go to your local garden shop, and give them the name of the tree and they will tell you everything you need to know about it. Also they are the experts . I can tell you it needs water and food, the room should not be too hot. Water it from the bottom, But maybe it needs to be replanted. You didn't say what kind of tree.

Lift the pot. Light weight = too dry. Aerate (poke holes in the soil) and water. Heavy = too wet. Let it dry out some. What are its light requirements compared to where it is located? good luck
