I am considering buying both my kids each an IPOD for christmas, but i need some information on them first. Can you download songs from limewire that i already have downloaded on my internet, or do i HAVE to use itunes, which i know nothing about.

Itunes is kinda just a way to organize your mp3 and video files. it is very simple to use the basic functions. I think its the only way to get your songs to your ipod. Yes your song files you have now wether they are from limewire, friends or cd's you can get them all into your ipod depending on the ipods capacity ex. 1gb- 60gb.

Use limewire, hopefully you have the virus protected update, and download iTunes which is free. When the music is done on LimeWire transfer the file to the itunes playlist. Easy. No hassels except for each of your childrens iPods will load on the computer differently. If my sister or I accidentally leave the other persons iTunes on, it will delete all the music on our iPod and upload thiers. Hopefully you have Windows XP where people can log into thier own home screen and just download iTunes to each person's log in. This can save your kids some potenially HUGE issues. My sister has the Nano because she is into music only, I have the 60 Video iPod because I'm in love with downloading TV shows. If my sister accidentally uses my home screen and tries to download videos onto her Nano, it freezes and we have to reset it. Careful!
Target.com seems to have the best prices for iPod stuff!

You need itunes. Itunes is pretty easy to use. All you do is plug in your ipod to your computer and you are ready to go. First, you have to use the cd to upload itunes on your computer. After that, you can put songs from your cd's to your itunes, or you can go online to the music store and buy songs(u need an account though)

u can download music from limewire but u just have to put it into your itunes. u have to use itunes to put music on your ipod.

i think that you have to use itunes i've heard that you don't have to have itunes.
but itunes would probably be a lot easier.
& you don't have to buy itunes, its free.
you can put your limewire and other songs that are dowloaded from the internet on itunes.

I HAVE A IPOD NANO its awsome make sure your kids ages are 13-? itunes are way better downloading songs are bad they get you viris
