Well, since I live in the country and there aren't many people around to ask about personal books ideas, I thought I'd try here. I have an idea for a novel. The main character is a Senior named Benjamin who is pretty rich, has an absent father, dead mother and no friends (but doesn't want any at all because people annoy him.) He meets and over the course of a year befriends a boy who is his exact opposite named Arian. Benjamin has a crush on a girl named Taylor, is stalked by a girl named Madison, and is kissed by Arian's brother Christopher (all funny stories, of course). At the climax of the story, Arian is hospitalized for heart complications and is revealed to have once been unpopular and fat. He lost weight, became popular but when his father died he became anorexic, thus causing heart problems and evolved into a positive outlook on life. Would you read it?

Here's an excerpt to give you an idea of the writing style and tone. In this scene, Benjamin backs his Porsche into someone walking behind it. Hilarity ensues.

He rushed out of the car, expecting to see just about anything. A guy was lying on his side, limp as a rag doll. Benjamin dropped to his knees and touched the boy’s shoulder, praying that he hadn’t seriously hurt someone. The boy rolled himself onto his back and Benjamin’s jaw teetered ominously from his face as he realized that it was Arian Kinsington.
Arian blinked up at the sky. “Ow.”
Panic settled over Benjamin. “Are you hurt?”
Arian considered. “Physically, no. Emotionally, I’ll get over it. Spiritually, the flashback on my life was unexpectedly short. I need a more interesting life.”

Well, you seem to have a good concept there. It does sound like something intended for the younger generation, that was my first thought. Your story excerpt felt a little rushed, but then that's just one small portion of something much larger, I'm guessing. Personally, I don't normally go in for this type of stuff, but then that's just me.
When it comes to reading, everyone likes checking out something that can somehow relate to them, finding a part of yourself in the characters of the stories. In the end, it's all about preference and your art is left in the hands of the readers and the critics.

Sounds like it's light and comical, which is always good. However, I suggest you make sure you build up the rivalry between Benjamin and Arian so your readers can relate more to the characters.

It sounds like an interesting and comical story. I would like to read it, so long as it isn't filled with questionable content. And I would like it better, if it ends well.
