Firstly Sharon Stone is American.
But .. I think they are worse then prostitutes unless it is going straight to charity. But I recently read an article where Paris Hilton said she would go to any party as long as she is paid a certain amount of money. Other 'stars' also only do appearances if paid and the money goes straight to their bank account. I find it disgusting that they do is... as if getting paid millions of dollars to be in a movie isn't bad enough, they still wont turn up to a charity event without getting money for themselves.

They are different in the fact that they don't have sex (or anything like it) with the person. It's more like... hmmm... escorts (the ones that are legitimately not prostitution rings).
