I used to have Sprint, and yes, they SUCK!
Personally, I really like Verizon. I have never had any problems at all with billing or anything. My reception is great and I love my phone (Samsung A950) .
Verizon has in calling, meaning that anyone that you talk to that also has Verizon you dont get charged minutes for. Nice feature if a lot of your friends also use Verizon. I have a family share with my husband and with texting/picture messaging and 400 minutes a month, we pay 80 or so. We dont use that many minutes because almost everyone I know uses Verizon.
You shouldnt base your decision on the phones that the company offers. What good is a cool phone is the reception sucks?

My Uncle is a Verizon executive, but in our close family we have T-mobile, they are really cheap, have a good family plan- free mobile to mobile anytime, unlimited weekends (I think...) and the range- that depends on where you live. T-mobile has strong reception in Major cities and mainly the Central United States. I'm in Houston and the there are no call problems at all. Only complaint I have is the selection of phones is not that great. I mean its not bad, they got the RZR's and Samsung, but the only flagship phone they offer is the T-mobile sidekicks, and that is appealing only to heavy text-messagers. If thats you, then go for it- it has plenty of features (MP camera, etc.) Personally though, I don't care about all the bells and whistles in a cell phone- esp. the texting. Its pointless y u wanna spend 3 centuries messaging your pal, when u can just call, even for free. (maybe to work up those trigger happy fingers, dissapate the energy or somethin')

It depends on alot of different things. your service area, the things you want, the phones you want. With the general information you've given, i bet t-mobile would work great for you. not only are the family plans great, but they offer something verizon doesn't: family text. unlimited incoming and outgoing text, video, picture, and instant messages for 19.99. even with only two people sharing a family plan thats an awesome deal just shop on t-mobile.com and verizonwireless.com and compare. also, with the amount of minutes you get with t-mobile, its not easy to go over your minutes like it would be at verizon. there most popular family plan is 1000 minutes to share, unlimited nights (9pm to 6:59am) and weekends (all 24 hours of sat and sun), and free mobile to mobile, so you can call anyone on the t-mobile network, anywhere in the us for free! that plan is only 69.99! true, verizon offers different things like earlier nights, three day weekends and things like that, but t-mobile gives you a huge amount of minutes so you can use them whenever, not worrying about when they are free or having to call them back in a few minutes. The phones are great as well. the new sidekick three is your ultimate texting device, and comes with built in aim, yahoo, and msn instant messager, and now its available in different colors! you seriously cant go wrong with t-mobile. they were also voted by J.D. powers and associates 4 years in a row the best customer service in wireless. they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to take your call. give them a shot! even if you don't like something or have network issues in your area. all t-mobile dealers are required to offer a 2 week buyers remorse period, so if in the first two weeks of service you see any problems with your device or service, just walk in to the store and return it. you'll get your money back and your services canceled, no questions asked.

Had em both.
Verizon is better coast to coast. T-Moble still has ALOT of gaps in service outside of major metropolitan area because of the technology they use. Visit their websites and check out their coverage maps to see where you'd use the plan..
Both have comparable plans, but T-Mobile has something interesting where you can assign your top five friends, regardless of cell phone provider, and you will not be charged anything but your normal minutes.
Verizon has a larger variety of phones from major providers.

verizon has been good for over 10 years for me; my husband has t-mobile and coverage is more spotty for him but he likes the cost. If you do verizon NEVER get LG phones--terrible.
