Yes they can. Our family once had a hamster who suffered a stroke and lost the use of most of his left side. He seemed to still enjoy his usual activities and came up with clever ways to run in his wheel and play with his toys. My children paid much more attention to him and babied him more and I think he loved all the attention.

peace

Yes, any living being is able to have a stroke. This is usually caused by stress, health problems, or simply just old age. My bird had a stroke and died two years ago, poor thing was just laying there in her water tray, but she was getting very old.

Hamsters don't live for a long time, but good luck. I loved them when I was little, too. But they weren't mine, they were my best friends. I loved them all the same.

yes they can, I think mine did when I was cleaning his cage. He sort of freaked out then couldn't move for a while, I thought he was dying..then all of a sudden he was fine.

Yes, they can.

You will notice extremely dilated pupils, unable to control their hind quarters, walking like they are drunk, confusion and terror because they cannot see.

If this has happened, be kind, and have him put to sleep.

Sometimes I think they can actually be so scared that they can have heart failure. Try a google search on it. They don't usually live much over a year, if that.
