personaly, i think so. today socety is telling everyone that to be accepted in the world you must look a certain way

actually modern plastic surgery was originally made for reconstruction. The first plastic surgeries were for cleft lips and skin grafts.
Today plastic surgery is usually divided into two groups. Reconstructive and Cosmetic. Obviously reconstructive will be for burn victims, woman who have had mastectomies etc. and Cosmetic is the boob job, lipo, and so on.
Plastic Surgery is something that's recently gained popularity. And its because its gotten a lot of attention in the media with shows like Extreme Makeover and Dr 90210. People are seeing how easy it is to make a change with little effort.
But as someone who has had plastic surgery I dont think our choices have to do with accepting ourselves. I think a lot of it has to do with society accepting who we are. Kind of like the girl with the big nose who gets teased. Noone wants to be teased. She wants to be one of the pretty girls. And society doesn't think big noses are pretty.

not really. in some cases, plastic surgery rebuilds lives... such as that person who can't live the normal life again because her burned etc. body parts etc. is ruined

depends on the situation. if its a lifelong torment or embarrassment then no. and thats not counting removing scar tissue or anything for difigurations cuz disfigurations and scar tissue is completely justified.
